NOTE6 OCTOBER 2026 — WENZHOU — HENRY, EYEFIY
Both high, or both low
A batch came in with its endpieces set at different heights. Both endpieces high passes. Both low passes. One of each does not, because the line is drawn on whether left matches right, not on the height itself.
The endpiece is where the front of a frame meets the temple. Two on every frame, one at each outer corner.
Normally every frame in a batch carries its endpieces at the same height.
In September a batch came in that did not. On some frames the endpieces sat high. On some they sat low. On some, one sat high and the other low.
The factory had already made them.
The line
Both endpieces high, I accept.
Both endpieces low, I accept.
One high and one low, I don’t. Not on the front.
The height is not what gets graded. The match is.
Why the front
The trade grades a finished frame by where the eye lands. Zone A is the front and the outside of the temples.
The endpieces sit on the front. A mismatch there is in zone A.
What we told the factory
We told the factory we don’t accept frames with one of each.
Every frame that ships has a matching pair. Both high, or both low. Left and right the same.
The brand does not have to line up endpieces frame by frame when the batch arrives.
